Savoury pies may sound odd to some, but they are one of the oldest convenience foods known to man, and can be found throughout culinary history in regions around the globe.

The Brits brought the modern pie to America back in the 1600s but, over the years, US pies have largely evolved into the popular dessert.

At Bürbelmaiers, we’ve brought back the tradition while introducing some modern twists, including vegetarian and gluten-free (GF) pies. Our traditional pie crusts are based on a classic hot-water recipe and a French-style pâte brisée

And, yes, we're spelling it the British way. :)

Slowly braised Tender Beef with Oven Roasted Mushrooms and Caramelized Onions in a rich Red Wine and Sherry Sauce.

Smoked Chicken & Leek

Smoked Chicken with melted Leeks in a White Wine, Sherry and Cream Sauce. The Wife's Favorite!

Curried Lamb

Seared Lamb, cooked sous-vide for 24 hours, shredded with Onions, Peppers and the Spices of India.

 

Jamaican Beef Patty

Inspired by sailors from Cornwall, the Jamaican locals applied their own spices and technique to the Cornish Pasty, and voila! Ours is Ground Beef and Yellow Squash flavored with both Jerk Seasoning and Curry.

Traditional Pork Pie

Olive oil & garlic poached Sun-Dried Tomatoes and chunky Feta Cheese.

 

Gluten-Free Pies

Our gluten-free pie crust is made with an in-house recipe of chick pea & fava bean flours, sorghum, flax seeds, and organic, sustainable palm kernel shortening.

Other gluten-free pies which may appear on our menu include Alsatian Onion and Turkey Sausage & Cranberry. Please note that, although we strive to separate our products, GF pies are made in-house where non-GF products are made.
